Policy Overview
This is the place where I provide my views on multiple issues affecting Americans today. It is often the case that candidates avoid directly stating definitive positions (rather than Party talking points) on divisive issues for fear of putting off potential voters. I'm taking the opposite approach: I believe that by coming out of the gate stating my views as clearly as I can, I will convince you to support my candidacy.
Of course we're not going to agree on everything. That's obvious, but to state in a different way what I said above: this is politics. My positions may be considered "conservative" on some issues and "liberal" on others, but I hope that by expressing my views openly we can find enough common ground.
These policy positions are derived from many places: rants from my blog (which is easy to find because there is no sugar-coating passion), essays written for classes I've taken (boring), political activist projects (long, but interesting), and existing legislation I support and policies or components of policies presented by legislators that I've adopted (policy wonkish).
I've also provided an over-simplified bullet list of my positions to help you form knee-jerk opinions of me as a candidate. Furthermore I encourage you to take my Match Maker quiz. Perhaps you loathe my position on a particular wedge issue, but you and I see eye-to-eye more than you think.
I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to visit today, and I hope you choose me as your candidate!
